Semente do Saber Angola
Investing in the tourism sector is a multi-faceted strategy that offers significant returns and boosts socio-economic development, while also serving as a catalyst for improving the quality and capacity of the labour force. Job creation, the need for qualified professionals and innovation in products and services are just some of the multiple benefits that new investments can bring to the country.
This is a virtuous cycle that feeds continuous development, making investment in tourism a solid strategy for sustainable growth, generating demand for qualified professionals in a variety of fields, such as qualified agents for travel agencies, airlines and hotels, tour guides, specialised professionals for catering, customer service, as well as technical areas and maintenance staff, among others.
Alignment with the UN SDGs
UN Sustainable Development Goal 4, “guarantee access to inclusive, quality and equitable education, and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all” by integrating themes into the 2030 Agenda, as per example:
-
Ensure equal access for all men and women to quality technical, professional and higher education at affordable prices, including university
-
Substantially increase the number of young people and adults who have relevant qualifications, including technical and professional skills, for employment, decent work and entrepreneurship.
-
Eliminate gender disparities in education and ensure equal access to all levels of education and professional training for the most vulnerable, including people with disabilities, indigenous peoples and children in vulnerable situations.
-
Ensure that all students acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to promote sustainable development, including through education for sustainable development and sustainable lifestyles, human rights, gender equality, promotion of a culture of peace and non-violence, citizenship global, valuing cultural diversity and the contribution of culture to sustainable development
